Holiday Tradition Writing Freebie

How many of you celebrate a family tradition? Maybe some of you decorate your Christmas tree together or make a food from a recipe that was passed down from an older family member. Family traditions are something you do with your family every year and it will continue on for many generations to come. I have a writing assignment that can help students write about a family tradition that they do every year with their family. 

Try this Holiday Tradition Writing! There are 2 versions to choose from, a Thanksgiving or Christmas picture. Students can write about a Thanksgiving tradition or a Christmas tradition. Click the picture above to download this FREE tradition writing and begin using it in your classroom today.  

You can take these writings a step further. Once students have written their final piece, make sure it's colored, framed or laminated. They can take their writing piece home to share with their family. I also had students read their tradition in front of the classroom. It was great for students to hear what other traditions their classmates celebrate. This was a great writing assignment for my students to express their ideas in writing which helped strengthen their writing skills.
